Depends.

If you have an internet connection at home that you can plug into, them no.

If you don't mind sitting around Starbucks and using their connection, then no,

If you want to go anywhere and be able to access the internet, then it's a big yes.

Verizon is a good choice but if you want to save a few dollars take a look at T-Mobile.

Check out this article <a href="http://www.laptop3gcard.com/wireless-data-plans">T-Mobile data plans</a>.

The short answer is no.

You will need to get a data plan from Verizon for your 3G Laptop Connect Card.

The only way you can get internet from your Palm Pilot is to connect it via USB to your computer and then locate some software that will let you share the Palm Pilot's connection.

I'm not sure... but I don't think so. I'd go online & find the info for the wrt54g2 linksys router, & go to their FAQ page. If the answer isn't there, try calling tech support at Verizon. Good luck, which I could have been more help.

What you have is a router and a broadband wireless card which use two different and incompatible technologies. To use the Verizon broadband wireless card, you have to subscribe to the Verizon wireless mobile broadband service.

To use the wrt54g2 linksys router, you need to plug that router into an internet service, then get an 802.11g wi-fi card. Since you like linksys, the linksys card model is WPC54G. The 802.11g wi-fi card will also allow you to access Starbucks and other wi-fi services.

While the Verizon Aircard has a subscription fee attached to it, all you need is the Aircard and the subscription. You will then be able to access high speed broadband Internet anywhere covered by the Verizon cell network. Wi-fi is cheaper, but much more limited in range.

If you have other computers you could use the router to network them together, plug the broadband wireless card into one of the computers and then share that connection. All of your computers would then have access to the internet, but boy would you eat up bandwidth quickly. The upshot is though you would need the Verizon mobile data plan.
